Today our Uniformed Protective Services students proudly attended the VE Day service held at Rochdale Cenotaph.The group joined MPs, councillors, community leaders and veterans at this special event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of peace being achieved in Europe.A sincere thanks to the students for representing the college and paying your respects at such an important event.

This VE Day our college community came together to raise the Union Flag at our Middleton Campus!Students and staff – along with local veterans – gathered to watch the flag raising and commemorate this special occasion.The Union Flag is now waving for all to see and is a great reminder of the sacrifices that so many people made in the name of peace.

Today our students had the honour of meeting Kenneth Wright – the last-surviving D-Day veteran in the borough of Rochdale!Kenneth, who is 102-years-old, took time to chat with the learners who are studying Uniformed Protective Services during the VE Day service at the Cenotaph.What an incredible experience for them to meet a man who played a role in achieving the peace that we all enjoy to this day!
